It's a long time to have to wait until Lisa's next novel, China Dolls, is published in the spring of 2013. If you're a Lisa reader dying of impatience, you might consider checking out Trina Robbins' Forbidden City: The Golden Age of Chinese Nightclubs. Robbins interviews a number of Asian American San Francisco nightclub performers from the 30s to the 60s.
